Stay tuned! I took a trip to Barnes & Noble this week, and spent a few hours looking through all the knitting magazines, to find more plus size patterns for us. I'm uploading the photos now, so my report should be ready soon. :)

Summer 2012 - Plus Size Patterns in Mags
Hello, all you plus-size knitting folks! :)
It's Summertime! So, that means it's time for another report. Our winner this month is Interweave Knits, who has provided a lovely vest pattern, with a 59 inch bust.

And here's that design - The Planche Vest

They had some other great patterns, as well, so I'm gonna list them all here:
Dawn Dress - up to 57 inch measurement under bust
(I think that some of us might need to add a bit to the top edge of that bra section, so we don't spill out for the whole world to see.)

Bethany Wrap - up to 56" chest
Flynn Cardigan - up to 54" chest

Seaglass Shell - up to 53" chest

Coquette Vest - up to 53" chest

Men's Herringbone Vest - up to 54" chest

Knitscene - (Summer 2012) has some nice plus-size designs this season as well.
Merida Pullover - up to 57" chest

Quinn Sweater - up to 56" chest

Kenzie Tee - up to 53" chest
(This one is assymetrical)

Knit 'n Style (August 2012) has gained some of our favor this time, because they have a design with sizing up to 4X! That's a real accomplishment, because usually they only go up to 2X. Thanks, Knit 'n Style! :)

Knit Silk Vest - up to size 4X
(They also have a crochet version that goes up to the same size)

End of Summer Capelet - up to size 3X

Cropped Jacket - up to size 3X

Love of Knitting (Summer 2012) lost our love this time, because they only have ONE design that goes up to size 3X. :( Did you forget about us? Boo Hoo........
Lacy Cable Vest - up to size 3X

Creative Knitting (July 2012)
Pender Vest - up to size 3X

Knitting Magazine (UK) - Issue 103 - June 2012

That pretty design on the cover is called "Shale Lace Top", and goes up to a 52" chest.
YARN (Australian) Vol 12, Issue 25

Garden Party Cardi - up to size 3X

Man's Jumper with Cabled Yoke & Sleeves - up to 142 cm chest (55.9")

That's all of it! There were some size 2X designs, but I decided to stick with 3X and over again this time.
See you all next time. :)

Spring 2011 Knitting Magazines
Hello again everyone! I have returned! Woo Hoo! Alert the media! :D
Life is still a little crazy, but I'm hanging in there. Just taking it one day at a time. Thanks for being patient.
A couple weeks ago, I stopped by Barnes and Noble, and I just happened to have my camera with me. So, I decided to settle in for a few hours to review plus size patterns in all the latest knitting magazines.
I was pleased to find some really nice patterns this time, and some great size ranges as well.
Here's the winner of the season:
Love of Knitting - Spring 2012
Yes, Love of Knitting, we DO love you!
You have given us TWO designs that include instructions up to size 5X!
Thank you for listening. :)
Here are the winners.
Sassy in Sherbet - up to size 5X

And Biased Cable Vest - up to size 5X

Our next winning design is in Knitscene - Spring 2012

The Fleurette Camisole has instructions up to a 59 inch chest, and the design is lovely.

Next on our list is Vogue Knitting - Spring/Summer 2012

The Lace Pullover is oversized, which is 67 inches at the chest.
I'm not sure how it would look on a plus-sized frame, though.

The Lace Panel Pullover goes up to a 57 inch chest.

The Stripe Tunic and Cowl goes up to a 54 inch chest

And the pretty Lace Back Top also goes up to a 54 inch chest

The March 2012 issue of Creative Knitting has some nice plus size patterns this time.

The Capetown Tunic goes up to 3X

Akiko's Kimono goes to size 3X

Azteca goes to 3X as well

Another 3X design is the Textured Vest, which has an unusual high back

Our next magazine review is Knit 'n Style - April 2012

The Button Up Set goes to a 58 inch chest

The Daisies Tank goes to a 55 inch chest

The Get Cabled Shrug goes to a 52 inch chest

And the Winter Sky Pullover also goes to a 52 inch chest

The Knitter's Magazine - K105 is obviously a Winter magazine, but it's still on the shelf. I found a couple interesting plus size patterns in there.
Ruffles & Purls goes to a 54 inch chest

and Night Moods also has a 54 inch chest

Australian Knitting - Vol 3 - No 4 Spring 2012
has a nice Family Cardi pattern that goes up to a 137 centimeter chest (about 54 inches)

Knit (UK) - Issue 46 (Nordic Issue)
has a beautiful design called Cornflower Raglan that goes to a 53.5 inch chest

YARN (Australian) - Vol 11- Issue 24
has a very feminine, lacy design by Annie Modesitt called Lace Top, which goes up to a 52 inch chest

Last, but not least is the Spring 2012 issue of Interweave Knits

The Agua Rios Vest goes to a 54.5 inch chest

The Manteo Cardigan goes up to a 54 inch chest

The Cobble Hill Pullover goes to a 53.5 inch chest

Finally, the Peony Cardigan also goes to a 53.5 inch chest

There were some other designs that were a bit smaller than those I've listed in this blog post, but I decided to stick with the larger ones this time.
Happy Plus Size Knitting! :D
