Lovely Lavender Cardigan

Yippee! This plus-sized cardigan took a while to make, but it was worth it.
Love the lace edging, and the knot design throughout.


The free pattern goes up to size 5X, and is called "Satin Lace Edge Cardigan", from the Bernat Yarn website. I used Bernat Satin yarn in a bright Lavender color.

Another Nice Plus Size Sweater!

Woo Hoo! I just finished knitting another nice plus-size sweater. It's another Bernat pattern, in a booklet called "Cold Front". The pattern is "Cable Yoke Sweater", and goes up to size 5X.

I used Bernat Roving yarn in the color "Lazuli".

Bernat & Patons Plus Size Patterns

Recently, I was asked to be a blogger for Bernat yarns. Before I agreed, I checked out their website to see if they have any plus size patterns. YIPPEE!! ALL of their women's patterns go up to size 5X!! Love it!

And I found out that Bernat and Patons are run by the same company. So I checked out the Patons websites as well - Yahoo! Some of THEIR patterns go up to size 5X also! :)

Another Lovely Plus Size Knitting Project

I just finished knitting this lovely "Alpaca Leaf Pullover" this week. Love it!


The pattern is in the "All Alpaca" pattern book by Bernat Yarns. I used their Alpaca Natural Blends yarn to make the sweater, and it went quickly - I completed it in one month. Nice!

Yay!!! SO Many Plus Size Patterns!

Since I started this blog several years ago, the knitting world has learned that we NEED plus size knitting patterns.

I've noticed that now there are LOTS of plus size knitting patterns available. Unfortunately, there are still some companies that continue to ignore us. But, for the most part, everyone else has caught on. As I've said before, "Plus size patterns require more yarn.....HELLO yarn shops!" I think they finally realized that they will make a lot more money off of us. (tee-hee)

One of my goals for this summer is to scrounge the internet for more free patterns for us. I'd also like to update our listing....deleting links that no longer work.

I've been knitting now for a little over three years. One of my biggest frustrations is that most patterns are written for model-thin people. NOT COOL!

If you look at a crowd of people, you'll soon realize that most of us are NOT thin. So, why hasn't the pattern-making public noticed this?

And another thing....you'd think the yarn stores would WANT to have plus-size patterns. Think of how much more yarn they would sell! (Plus size patterns need more yarn to complete the project.) Hello!!!!

Since I spend so much time searching for plus-size knitting patterns, I decided that maybe I should put what I find in one spot. For my own convenience, and for the rest of you plus-size knitwear lovers.

So, without further ado, let's get cracking......
